Blwyddyn Newydd dda!
Welcome back to a new term! You have by now received the letter explaining what is going on this term. Our theme "Calon Lan" is well under way. We are enjoying our Science theme- "The Human Body" and have enjoyed meeting Mr Bones as we found out about the human skeleton. Dr Burkhardt came to speak to us about taking care of our bones and was amazed by how much we already knew.....da iawn blant! I hope you have all been busy with your homework finding out about our important organs- I can't wait to see your posters/ leaflets/ models! I hear that Jack is going to be showing us a lamb's heart and explaining all about it! Very exciting!

Roman workshop
What a fabulous trip! Everyone said it was the best trip ever!!!! We met Marcus, the Roman soldier who tried to persuade us why we should join the Roman army - then the two Celts tried to tell us that they were the best! We walked up to the Roman keep - so steep, but what a view from the top! Then we enjoyed a short film on the history of Cardiff castle and tried on some old costumes!!! Lots of fun and lots of learning!

busy few weeks!
What a busy few weeks! We have been learning lots about the Romans in school and at home - we are becoming experts! Now we are looking forward to our trip to the Roman workshop at Cardiff castle next week......we will now start to find out about what happened when the Romans invaded Britain.......
Our Science theme of Rocks and Soils is now well under way. The expert geologist Mrs Hayward came to tell us about how rocks are formed and taught us lots of new words to use! Mrs Lyddiatt helped us make Rock Cakes - and we saw for ourselves how different particles bind together to make rocks like conglomerate rocks.......(they were yummy to eat too!)
Harvest festival next week - and we have been busy making an alphabet of fruit and veg - amazing how many varieties there are!

bye Finnley!
It was a sad but happy day on Friday when we all said "good bye and good luck" to our class mate Finnley Hall. He has left us to go to Australia! What a great adventure! We hope he will keep in touch with us and tell us all about his new life. In his own words - " I know I am going to make lots of new friends but I won't forget my "original" friends- and we can always Skype". Year 3 greeted Finnley with a party - they made him cards and gave him presents. we had cake - and Ethan and Joseph danced a Finnley style dance.....then we did the conga round the yard to end a happy but sad afternoon. Good luck Finnley! We will miss you!
